| The Searchers – Love Potion No. 9 (The Clovers cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Could it be that they just wrote goofy little songs in the 50's and 60's that didn't need to be read into? I, personally, think it's just a quirky little song. Although, if it really IS a song with a hidden meaning, SeaThing really hit the nail on the head. Makes sense. | |
| Reverend Horton Heat – Bath-Water Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The Reverend is really a better band than what they get credited for. The lyrics aren't always too clever, but, boy howdy, these guys can play! Whatever. This song is about completely rejecting a relationship just 'cause something went wrong. I dunno... I thought it was a cool song. Guess I'm the only one... | |
| Boston – Still In Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Delp's voice and Scholz's guitar in a duet at their finest! Everything on their first three albums was just gold! Third Stage was totally worth the ten years. Not... That I was there for it. But another GOOD Boston album coulda come outta the 80's if there wasn't that recording mishap... Anyway, this song pretty much explains itself away, I just wanted to comment on a little-known Boston song that retains the quality of every other pre-Walk On song. | |
| Boston – Used To Bad News Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I need the tabs for this song! The guitar solo is just so... Inspirational! Makes me happy every time I hear it! I really don't understand why this song didn't get popular with the rest. Yeah, Mike pretty much hit this one. A girl's fixin' to break up with him, but probably feels bad about it. He just wants her to get it over with. Waiting for a breakup is a long, exasperating process sometimes... |

| Eagles – Hotel California Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
And just maybe, through some odd coincidence, someone will read this... I seriously have been convinced that this song was not intended to have a meaning. Heartbreaking, I know, but the two bits of information I've gotten straight from the Eagles really lead me to believe this... The first was on Sixty Minutes when Henley was confronted with Hotel California. Look it up on YouTube or something, no doubt its up there somewhere. Anyway, he said it was actually based on their career and how once they started they couldn't stop. Any Eagles fan could tell you about the issues with The Long Run and the breakup afterward. It makes sense... But, personally, I think it's bogus. In the 2-CD set The Very Best of the Eagles (one of my greatest purchases), they had a comment for each of the compilations songs. Under Hotel California, Glenn Frey has this really long Twilight Zone-esque scene he describes which he concludes with, "'What does it mean? Nothing. It's just the movies.' 'Hotel California' is like that." Just... Go buy the CD. It's worth the money and it'll give you a bit more insight into their songs. |

| Eagles – How Long Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I... Didn't get any of that out of this song. Although, I agree with TrainCrash up here; it really is classic Eagles style! Amazing song! What it looks like to me is basically what just about every other Eagles song is about: love, either the good or bad side. You can tell just from the chorus. "How long, how long, woman, will you weep?" Like talking to a woman who's thrown herself at plenty of men and just falls apart every time it doesn't work out. The last line in the chorus emphasizes that. In saying "Rock yourself to sleep," he's basically saying she doesn't deserve the sympathy anymore. The second verse fits too perfectly in with that. In a nutshell, he's sayin' it's the same situation between being in prison and being in love. "Don't you know it's the same sad situation." Basically, it can be a prison being trapped in love. That's just what it looks like to me. |
