Although I see where you are going with this, its incorrect for what the song is talking about. "I'm sorry for the Demon I've become You should be sorry for the Angel you are not I apologize for the cruel things that I did But I don't regret one single word I said" It is obvious that she sees him as the "Bad Guy (the demon) while on the other hand, she tries to see herself as an angel, which she is not. By cruel things he has said to get back at her and doesnt feel sorry for saying what he said; she deserved it "Just Walk Away, make it easy on yourself Just walk away, please release me from this Hell Just walk away, there's just nothing left to feel Just walk away, pretend that none of this is real" Simple, he is saying that the relationship is too damaged to be fixed and what ever she is "thinking" is still there is imaginary and by her not letting go is causing them both nothing but drama, pain, and frustration "Forgive me if I told you that I cared Would you be sorry if I swore that I'd be there Please forgive me for laughing when you fall I'm so sorry, but I never cared at all!" I think this refers to the first verse of the song about the cruel things that he said, but he doesnt regret anything that he said for all the pain that she has caused him |

| It obviously is about giving up on relationships. This actually has a special meaning for me. I was with a girl for 4 years, my first love. Then all of a sudden, we were no longer together. Ok well this is absolutely one of my all time favorite songs off all time. I Dont think that this really has to do with Darkness and Demons, in fact, I think it has to do with being your own person. Not being afraid of doing and being what you want. Not following what other people want you to do or expected to do. The norm of all people, but to actually be yourself. Be what you want to be, not what society wants you to be. The Night (because night is often referred to as mysterious and scary. You do not know whats behind there or in there) refers to "the uncertainty, the adventure, the risk, and being afraid of what will happen to you if you go against society or religion" What has come over me? (Why do I want to do/ be this) What madness taken hold of my heart (Madness= going against societies "norms") To run away, the only answer Pulling me away (the temptation to feeling "whole") To fall upon (the night) The source of my recovery (what will make me feel complete) Sweet shadow taking hold of the light (something not accepted by society/ religion is attractive) Another day has been devoured Calling me away, begging the question Why?
