| I think it's about self mutilation especially when he says: "With arms wide open you keep on begging for more". It's like the person knows that it's wrong but still it feels so right. It reminds me of Lisey's story, a book by Stephen King where he says "cutting the bad-gunky" meaning liberating yourself from your pain by cutting. And I love how much the song make us feel the confusion of that moment when heaven turns to black and hell to white. I love this song :) | |

| Well, this song is really great!I can see why "April Rain" is number one on the Dutch charts. The acoustics are amazing and so are the vocals. Marco made this song a bit more special..As for the meaning I'm still trying to figure out what the lyrics mean but I'd like to think of it as having control on you own fate and never let the storm get you down..Great album. | |

This song makes me think that somehow we all deal with death like a six-years-old child..Somehow we all long to "lie cold in the ground" next to the beloved ones we've lost... I guess what really makes me feel sad while listening to the song is that it's written from the perspective of a child...I mean most of us had to deal with death at some point but just the thought of a child losing his playground mate is horrible...Just the idea of six-years-old Amy hating herself for breathing without her sister...What touches me the most is that, instead of not knowing what was going on, Amy understood at that early age what death was all about, she understood that "all paths lead straight to" her baby sister, that someday, she'll be right beside her... I think that somehow the death of her sister haunts all Amy's lyrics...It made her the women she is today... |
