Orgy – Re-Creation Lyrics 12 years ago
Just wanted to mention it's missing a line during the chorus:

"As the program showed us"

I guess that means how we're conditioned to behave... So someone's behind it all.

The Edge's guitars are so chaotic toward the end, damn I love it. Definitely one of my favourite of his parts among their songs I've heard.

I never thought about it, but the title seems to imply reincarnation. Can't gather much from the lyrics supporting though, except the beginning. That's at least the start of a life. Eh maybe not really on to something here heh.

Dir En Grey – Fukai Lyrics 14 years ago
Ordinarily, yes. But Kyo (and the band as a whole I imagine) are fond of word play. The fu- is the same one in "Itoshisa wa Fuhai ni Tsuki", and -kai, on-reading of "umi".

Squarepusher – My Red Hot Car Lyrics 16 years ago
Well that's what this site's for! But obviously him saying that is just a euphemism. It's not about his car, a guy like that doesn't need to worry about it, hell, he's got a run-down piece o' shit for a vehicle! ROFL.

The repetition of "but but but"... LMAO that part always cracks me up! Not to be offensive, but that's some angry black guy right? Sounds just like it.

I like this, I don't think it's his best though.

Dunno... Seems like we got all the singles from AWAKE here (except for Killing Me).

I just listened to Kiss for the first time, it seems like the previous album surpasses it in every way... And this is perhaps the best on it!

It's been a long time since I seen the video, don't quite remember what it's about. >_>

It's the same way with the Pierrot songs posted here. Actually there's less with them!

Seems like it's Dir en grey that gets all the attention, LOL (and, I guess, Malice Mizer to an extent). >_<

The other bands are cool too!

Well, then, it's the "won" part I don't quite get. It could be referring to how the right to abortion has been challenged in court and the "freedom of choice", or that from "responsibility" which you mentioned.

I still don't think it has to be about just that; "arasoieta mono" seems to signify more warfare than anything else, being that which you fought for.

I think there's still a certain amount of disconnect from the original lyrics and the translation. But yes, I can see where you're coming from.

Dir En Grey – Dozing Green (English) Lyrics 16 years ago
Hmmm, it's possible about "white voice" meaning just that... But it still seems a little weird to me.

But anyway, in the uroboros version, they made it plural. I wonder if the lyrics could involve someone afflicted with schizophrenia. Don't know that Kyo's ever sung about someone like that before though, but I wouldn't quite be surprised!

Yes, but you can see how the chorus of the finished version emerged :D

Can't wait to have someone read a meaning from it! ^_^

You should call it "Bugbear" instead then, why not? ^^

I've thought some about this lately, and yeah it could mean more than the abortion thing which deadxlettersxc mentioned. Kyo seems to have sung enough about that I think, he probably means something more. Particularly from the chorus:

"It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?"

I think it could also be referring to war. I infer that from the line "was it freedom that we won?" That one line doesn't quite seem to fit in with the abortion theme, although I once thought it did.

"It disappears without even being able to let out a word" -- that could be the people who are destroyed before they know what hit them.

The rest doesn't really conflict with it either (and maybe is strengthened, like by "the heartrending beast"). Perhaps the baby, shortly after birth, was killed in a time of war. And the mother is left wondering why it has to be this way. The lines in the end don't fit all too well though.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Nevermind Lyrics 16 years ago
Oh fuck yeah! That line's the bomb, it's so true.

I just wish they'd say they're the Grizzlers here once but I guess they didn't do that yet (like add it at the end)... nah j/k but they SHOULD'VE done a Grizzlers song dammit!

I really do love this song. It's so hilarious in its putdowns. The "flapping cheeks" of Anthony at the end is very funny also. It's kind of like what a whole lot of solo/group rap artists have been doing for many years, but in waaayyy too many of their tracks. This is the only one they've done like this, and that's the way it should be, putting those tracks to shame with its numerous and clear insults... Dunno if other bands at the time ever did anything similar, though.

It is not lame. It makes perfect sense in my mind! Maybe it was just what he was going for; it is very possible Kyo was getting two messages across, the usual about the genes and now this thing. (Lumberjacks especially do deserve our appreciation, working hard as they do... just recently some list came out with the desirableness of different jobs, saying it was the most undesirable job.)

Anyway, by George he's right, we better weed out those weak genes and pay less heed to those glamorous types.

I think it's amusing how the title's in classical Japanese (well what seems to be) but the entire song's in English. LMAO

I was disappointed by it at first, now I think I like it more than "Beautiful Dirt" (that's the one most similar to this I can think of).

Definitely one of the better ones (but the chorus is merely ok for me).

How can you ask that? Why are you even here? :P

I did that for the first time about a month ago, Panda xD Yes, excellent road song!

I guess the lyrics are about Jack the Stripper, another mysterious serial killer who left his victims in the nude. o_O

Heh! Listen to this while driving with the bass pumped up. =D It's a pretty cool effect.

But yeah. As an intro it's just meant to get you pumped for what's to come, nothing more really.

U2 – Red Light Lyrics 17 years ago
Of course, "Red Light" possibly has two (or more) meanings, than just the district. But the other I'll say likely is more evident. Put your hand up to someone's face, that's a red light right there. So is walking away, albeit more indirect. That's the message she's giving him, not wanting anything more to do with him.

Well most of us know about the title. I guess it's a relationship that couldn't work out, possibly because of some serious matter, hence "your own tragedy". Or there's something fundamentally wrong with the person.

Yes, definitely underrated. I like how simple it is compared to War's other tracks. :D

Dir En Grey – Gyakujou Tannou Keloid Milk (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
This is rather disgusting, but if anyone remembers Boo's translations, he says that 'keloid' is a substance that leaks out of wounds. The person is continually reopening the wounds like he's milking them... Or something. It's been a long time since his site was up. I can probably find it thru archive.

Dir En Grey – Gyakujou Tannou Keloid Milk (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, in that case it could be said the person is trying to *ahem* 'milk' their attention, heheh.

I think the "high & proud" line could mean he feels comfort knowing that if he were in the shoes of whoever he's singing of, he'd endure whatever he had to, no matter how inconvenient it was. I hope that makes sense. o.0

Orgy – Leave Me Out Lyrics 17 years ago
The rapping is really not *that* big of a part, ha ha.

Not much to say about it's meaning, it's certainly straightforward. You don't need someone intimate causing you grief and hurting you instead of inspiring good feelings. It may seem numb after a while but it never really goes away...

The "class" must be life and "test" the ordeals we go through. So this is all a test to him, difficult though it may be.

Orgy – Inside My Head Lyrics 17 years ago
'Raging boner'? I think there's way more too it than that, what with the "nothing changing".

And that would mean the other person wants to appear as though they are trying to cope with themselves & their problems, but the person won't let himself be convinced

"Medicated aren't we all"--We've all got our addictions, and the other person is his (and hers(?) is...?). Looks like he's going through withdrawals because...

I think it's someone he hardly ever gets to see and only hears about or talks but still cares for, because why would you need to be concerned with visions of someone when they are constantly in plain view? I guess it could be about a long-distance relationship (which have a good chance of not working out)...

Also the last 'medicated' verse, "medicated are we're all" appears that way in the booklet IIRC. Screwy, I know, lol.

Dir En Grey – Ryoujoku no Ame (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
Very good song; difficult to decifer. It is a very emotional song, right from the start with the guitar (I think that's what that's gotta be!) starting out mum than gaining more and more momentum. I especially like this because it sounds like it's about someone who bleeds to death, reflecting on their life (suicide? very likely), but it isn't so damn sad like other songs of theirs such as Mushi and Higeki.

What could the "lukewarm rain" mean? Lukewarm means "neither hot nor cold", so it could mean apathy or imply that it is bittersweet. It may seem easy to say, but I think it refers to the mundane life, to reality. Life fucks us all in one way or another, doesn't it?

I think this may be about someone in their youth, as we all start out innocent, but even before we age much, that state is lost.

The mentioning of his 'weakness' could mean physical weakness, but also that of his character. People are so cruel, without even knowing why. Starting in our youth, many of us treat each other poorly, for whatever reason. Then, there are others who don't really respond to it, who bear the brunt of the harshness. Over time, it all adds up...

However he ended up like this, he is able only to recall that which he experienced long ago. As his body fails him in his last moments, he prays, yet the sun goes down.

"Absolute justice"? Seems like the ones he refers to in "Clever Sleazoid" which claim they operate "under the name of Justice" (justice's jurisdiction) perhaps those who are involved with wars (they ruin other's lives and they really don't give a shit). So maybe war itself plays some part in this.

I realize that's a lot of stuff and probably doesn't make complete sense... So just take it as you will. ^^

I agree, Zakuro. I listened to it today, and... Well, you really have to be in the mood to enjoy it.
