JT - "this is about trying to tell a loved one about Christ, tell them the truth about their life, or just being honest with someone you care about concerning the most important aspects of life (e.g. they're ruining their life and are rebelling against Jesus) and how difficult it is and how it hurts to do it." When JT told me the part about "rebelling against Jesus", I thought of the people that don't even believe in religion and how hard it is to show them right because they have given up on hope or love for the fact that others are helping fill there head with the wrong thing to do or just born blindly with no conviction to supporting someone you said you'd spend your life with. (I'm getting into what it means to me) when they are on there own to decide what's right. Usually your instinct is best because you are the only one that has witnessed a mistake and have been there threw the good times with this person. And yes; it does "hurt to do it". I've been trying to explain this to someone I love.. Since she doesn't believe in God she has no clue what good fortune is or being optimistic and supportive after mistakes are made when you are in love with someone.. She chooses to fall back on her own belief of tearing your heart out multiple times and sticking around just to get off on her own enjoyment because she actually has no clue what love actually is (and that is the wrong way if you truly love someone). It's so hard to show someone who you really are when they deny that you are when your in love and you make a mistake. A word to the wise: Try not to make mistakes buy when you do.. Tell them and try to explain that they still mean everything to you; if this is the person you truly want to spend the rest of your life with they should be compassionate to understand you have to work together and both have to change to see through the hard times. Have them hear what you think would fix your bond. Love is ALWAYS hoping for the best, Faith in following what's right, and Trust to never leave that person even when mistakes are made or either one is hurt. "True love is the soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another." haha.. I stole that from "Wedding Crashers". I hope my blogging helps anyone.. If they're lost. First off, if Matt wrote these lyrics.. I want to confront him with great gratitude for piecing these songs together. You had my devotion to sit there and pick apart each on of Winter Solstice's songs deep in thought through each line of every song.. I think winter solstice is the best christian metal band and most of their lyrics are deep and understanding to me and I just wanted to say that's why I honestly love this band like I love no other (because there poems are nicely put). Wait that's just the beginning.. it makes it even more fitting to listen to the rest of the guys KILLING it on their instruments; they hit EVERY note PERFECTLY, and when you have some alarming lyrics to go with that.. It's "beyond words".. This is what I think the song is about: Hes saying goodbye to someone that has no understanding in what is right in true love or having her understand that he truly loves her.. (Christians look to god as given us right views on things and believing in what's right and that's why we pray for him to understand us when we need someones generosity in listening to us. In this song it shows just that with "With the legend of the mantis still fresh in my mind I continue trying to give you the key but your foot's already in the door". In those three lines Matt's telling us; With the prayers still fresh in his mind he continues to try and make her understand but she's always got her comment to throw in ahead of him without any hesitation to listen to what he believes will help them in the long run.) No matter how he got got the opposed (his girlfriend or) to believe something in not being right because of mistakes people make. But we always have that keen belief in knowing what we should do when we make a mistake (better it by explaining why we made that mistake or try not to let it happen again by knowing it was a mistake.).. when god answers our prayers, it's nothing but a moment of realization.. that's what you need to focus on.. knowing what's right and realizing you should do it because of that blindly stated FACT in every one of their songs. Because "It's just better". I know.. it's pretty long.. but i just wanted to throw some other random stuff in there that might help understand "What this song mean's to me". |

I just want to say one thing.... EVERYONE THAT COMMENTED THIS SONG AS BEING ABOUT GOD IS FUCKING DUMB... this song is about a relationship... and half of their songs are (hahaha)... GOD IS IN US! GOD IS WHO YOU BELIEVE!!!... these christian metal bands don't scream to god. they scream to US! and i want to slap everyone of you that look at god as a Person... Your god..(or what you believe in WAS a person or WAS something at one point. But HE died for you to believe in what you believe... This song is about asking for forgiveness from a loved one (if you watch the fucking music video...) and read the lyrics... at no point does he talk to god... (being a christian is more than believing in a god).. its about believing in YOURSELF, and knowing what the fuck is right. I'm catholic and i can believe all of you guys that have commented on this song have no idea what a god is... HE IS YOU.
