I know this song is several years old now, but as I've been listening to my SP collection in the car the past few days this one came on today and struck a chord in me as never before. I'd like to say as an actual SP fan that this is, in fact, a great song, from the start to the end. Never seen Spiderman 3, don't care to. Eyes Open is not my fav album, and I don't obsessively listen to Chasing Cars, what I will say is that, like most of their stuff, is another exceptionally well penned song and is unique compared to their more mainstream sound they've had since Final Straw. Favorite part - "The only resolution,And the only joy, Is the faint spark of forgiveness In your eye" And the lyrics are - "No, I don't wanna wait forever." Honestly, how can you not hear that? I didn't know that was Feist, cool. And the song would not be the same without her. She is almost kind of whispering her part that gives the sense that there is an uneasiness about the characters in the song. i just really think this song is great. kind of like all the other Wilco songs...! |

| i think it is "feel you with dinner." i'm sorry this is about 6 years late as this is an old song, but this is his best. i love this song, and i to me it is about foolish romantic love. this is such an amazing song though, and i always tell people if they like howie from "collide" then they need to listen to this and really get to know his stuff. | |

I really signed up just to comment on this song. It is truly one of the best songs ever. I tell people Snpw Patrol is one of my favorites and the look at me like I'm crazy and snicker about Chasing Cars being overplayed sooo much. Then I refer them to their earlier music, such as When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear It Up, and songs like An Olive Grove. This song, lyrically and musically just make me feel happy and warm. I'm able to escape in my mind to an epic love story. "Just let me love you, just for a while want to. Be with you all night, be with you all night. Don't fall asleep, until I fall asleep." This song puts me somewhere on the Cal coast, like Half Moon Bay, on a foggy day with the one I love, overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, feeling like their is no one else in the world. It's really hard to put into exact words, but this song is truly a masterpiece, and I'm happy its not well known cause that would ruin it for me. I feel like the less people know about it, the more personal it is. Let the world like songs like Run and chasing cars. But leave this and, if i'd found the right words to say, and mahogany to the real fans...! |
