I think they are saying that all men driven by greed will become endlessly driven by it, with no care for anyone else. "When silver waves his hand, we kneel so eagerly." And evidently we will all bow to money if there is enough of it. |

What evidently led me to think that the lyric is about the notion that all religions are just selling people imaginary stuff (for money or personal freedom) with no sentimental value is that they called it ecstasy. That it is just the bliss of ignorance packed in a neat little package and sold for money and critical thinking. "Bring me all your treasures, I'll grant you my love." This is why I think they are speaking as the deity that is selling its heaven which is supported by: "If you look hard you'll see me in the sky,". "If you're down and all alone, I'll show you a paradise, for you to rejoice. I'm your wishing well, I'm your only choice." They are speaking as god selling bliss through ignorance. |

No one? Fine. There is no heaven, only the comforting idea. Religious institutions are too rich and powerful. There is no all powerful magical maniac on a self righteous killing spree. Get used to reality. |
