In one of the live videos of this song, Matt claims it's about playing rock and roll. And it kind of makes sense in some of the verses. Seems like they weren't expected to go anywhere and they really didn't have much to lose. I guess it kind of shows that they shook things up in their home town with the success they have had. |

you guys are ENTIRELY wrong.
i saw 10 years a few weeks ago and i was praying they would play this song cuz it's my fav. so they did and before going into it jesse explained what it's about. it has to do with him getting drunk and messing around with his buddy's gf. weird right?? sounds like something blink 182 would right but that's what he said. i forget the name of the alcohol he kept mentioning but that's what it's about. |

i read in an interview with brock that this song is about the band's travels throughout the years up to the point of this album. the all night lights is a metaphor for a day in alaska when there's daylight for 24 hours, when the song was written. |
