| Bad Religion – Robin Hood in Reverse Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Everyone has already posted the obvious financial meaning behind the song, but am I the only one who thinks when he says the "old fox", he is referring to Robin Hood, who was portrayed as a young fox in the classic children's cartoon? Remember the Robin Hood cartoon where they were all animals? Robin Hood was a young literal fox who robbed from the rich to give to the poor. Now the "old fox fearing the worst" is witnessing the rich stealing from the poor? Robin Hood in reverse as I see it... | |
| Bad Religion – You Lyrics | 17 years ago |

1st verse is about heaven, which is very self-evident. The 2nd verse is about what really happens when you die... nothing. "Admittance requires no qualifications" (Unlike Heaven) "It's where everyone has been and where everybody goes" (What was it like before birth? Much like it will be after death. Nothingness. We've all been there.) "And when the farm is good an bought you'll be there without a thought" ("Buying the farm" means to die. It's a western expression. So when you die, you'll be in nothingness without a thought, considering you wont have a brain to do any thinking.) "Eternity my friend is a long fucking time" (Who would want to spend an eternity anywhere?) Considering Bad Religion's openly atheistic views, I'm surprised people are even arguing what this song is about. |
