dude kanye west has a networth of 100MM+. his wife has a networth of 40MM+. he bought a rock for 8MM. He released Watch the Throne at the height of the global financial crisis where him and jay rapped about owning masterpieces of modern art. He has multiple MM corporate deals. KANYE IS THE ONE PERCENT. that dude is not struggling.
Same thing with jay. Monster has been pushing pseudoscience propaganda for decades, charging $1000+ for cables, claiming they increase audio clarity, though this has been proven wrong over and over again. Jay had the choice to cash in on this rapper headphone fad and he knew what Monster was doing. No one owns these guys anymore. Jay+Beyonce have a networth of 1B. They are making explicitly exploitative choices. Either of these guys could very easily start up their own businesses and sell for extremely low prices if they were doing something for other than their own profit margins. they're bloodsuckers, not slaves. |

the beginning of this song really annoys me because to borrower is NOT to take and not return. seems like an artificial dilemma, which invalidates the emotion in the song because Robin is just trying to be sad and introspective over some issue. |

It's most definitely "don't haunt me". the dude who wrote the lyric wiki is not infallible. Haunt go's with the ghost lyric. songwriting 101 dude. I don't know how you think "hurt" makes more sense. not only does a ghost physically hurting someone not make sense, but thom is a 40 year old man. I think he's a little too mature at this point to write as amazingly pathetic a line as a cry to not hurt him. |

fyi that repetition is from thom's obsession with the minimal techno of early 90s Warp artists and jonny's influence of especially steve reich and other minimalist composers. though your idea makes it seem way more romantic ha.
the best example of them ripping off minimalist composers can be found on Convergence from Bodysong (Steve Reich- Drumming) and the 2006 version of Arpeggi performed at the ether festival (Terry Riley- A Rainbow in Curved Air). check it on youtube. |

I completely disagree. Albums like Loveless--which place the vocals really low in the mix--are about vocal melody (another instrument) and Phil sings on the borderline of monotone on most songs. Granted, it's one of the things that makes the microphones unique, but saying that he is great, thoughtful singer is just wrong. In fact, he's straight up just talking through most of this song. |

the song is self explanatory. but yeah, this really happened. I saw him play this last march or something and he said it was a true story and told us the story.
....and he literally says "it's true" in the recording. |
