this is indeed about the man who molested Chris as a child. he has since filed charges against the man and there was a court trial in 2005 before this album was recorded (he wrote this when he was 16) so he has in fact, told on the man, as he said he would not in the song
Chris said it was to potect other children he felt were in harms way around the man |

Toad used to send out tapes of unreleased tracks to the folks on their mailing list, each tape contained 2 unreleased songs and this appeared on their 1992 tape. it was recorded during the "Fear" sessions and Glen Phillips, their lead singer said "it's a nonsense, gibberish song written in five minutes" it gave them an excuse to have fun in the studio and play around with an XTC styled arrangement |

well, Glen Phillips, Toad's lead singer/songwriter is a jewish born atheist, so, it's not a christian song
he's said before tat it's about when so much shit builds up on you that you just collapse underneath the weight of it all. he was very depressed and suicidal prior to writing and recording the bands final album "Coil", which this song appears on. so it's one of his dark struggle songs. |

I don't really have a comment on this songs meaning, as it were, just a small correction, the official title of this track is "Chrismas Song", Chris made it official when he released the studio version on his "C-Sides" EP last year |
