These lyrics are full of mistakes. It's not "It's calls me down", but "it calms me down". It's not " I will not be hurt by this confining skin", but "I want out from under this confining skin". It's not "My worth is measured sourly according to the scale I get heavy, I feel frale" but: "My worth is measured solely according to the scale I am heavy, I feel frail. " I might have missed some mistakes, there are so many of them. And yes, of course, this song is about her battle with anorexia. Pretty damn obvious. What I love about it is that she manages to sing about something so dark, devastating, ugly and to some degree taboo in such a beautiful and non-complaining way. No clichés, no boo hoo - pity me's.. Simple, clean, beautiful. |
