| Pretty interesting interpretations, though I've always thought this song related in some way to the saying "There are plenty of fish in the sea". | |
| Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It's between this and Reckoner for my favorite song on In Rainbows... ""Jigsaw Falling into Place" is about a set of observations and different experiences, partly of the chaos witnessed by Yorke when he used to go out on the weekend in Oxford. Yorke said "The lyrics are quite caustic–the idea of 'before you're comatose' or whatever, drinking yourself into oblivion and getting fucked-up to forget ... [there] is partly this elation. But there's a much darker side."" Source: Wikipedia (Taken from an interview from the magazine NME) Well, this certainly clears the song up for me, just drinking when you're young from the looks of it. Still an amazing song, the acoustic guitar and the lyrics/vocals are my favorite parts about it :) |

| Nine Inch Nails – Where Is Everybody? Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song reminds me of my first relation that ended badly (it was a close relation yet it's amazing how fast circumstances can fuck things up). At first I felt like I was all alone and I was confused as to what or who to blame for it ending, I kept all the feelings bottled up inside of me because I thought no one would understand if I told them. I really didn't feel like sharing my feelings with anyone and whenever anyone asked me about it, well, I lied about it... I guess this song is just focusing on the isolation you face when you come out of a relationship (everyone deals with a breakup differently) and everything that comes a long with it... |

The character seems to admit defeat and is almost take down in The Great Below... But makes a kick ass come back in this song lol |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Day the World Went Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Watch the new Terminator: Salvation trailer... One of the best uses I've seen for this song so far. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – March of the Pigs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I always thought this song was about the fans... They always want more and more music and sometimes the artist hates this (Ticks and Leeches from Tool much? Not to metion Starfuckers, inc. maybe...). | |
| Nine Inch Nails – We're in This Together Lyrics | 17 years ago |

NIN's new stuff is good, but stuff from The Fragile era reigns supreme for me... SO much more raw emotion in songs like this. |

| Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song always reminds me of my brother (well, half brother actually since my mom divorced when I was really young and remarried). Even though me and my brother weren't fully related by blood, our family had gone through a lot of shit and that made us closer in a sense, close enough not to care about the fact that we didn’t have the same father and accept eachother for who we are.... We’re older now and we’ve both chosen different paths in life, but we see talk to eachother every now and then… But when we talk, it’s nice to see that we’re both the same people we were when we grew up together (“We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears” gets me everytime…) Well, enough of that… Just wanted to say that this is one of the main reasons I like Pink Floyd. |

| Radiohead – Nude Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this song is about two people who were close together, yet the narrator of this song finally sees this person for who they really are (Nude if you will) who pretends to be pure ("You'll paint yourself white") and in the end, he chooses not to be with this person even though this person still wants to be with him (Which most of the lines in this song seem to be pointing at like "Now that you've it, it's gone" and "Now that you feel it, it's gone") This song reminds me of a softer "Jigsaw Falling into Place" now... |

| This is the perfect song to listen to when you're with someone you're close to... | |
| Coldplay – Amsterdam Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is the follow up to A Rush of Blood to the Head which in that song, the character made a big mistake burning something down that was special to him and his significant other. In the end, he's basically dug himself a hole that he can't get out and his only chance to get it is for his significant other to come out and save him. In the end, he considers the extreme way out, suicide, but this other one shows up just in time. As for how it ends, he is either cut loose from the noose from the other, or the other "cuts him loose" and rejects to help him... One of my favorite songs of all time. |

To me, this song is the reason Tool > A Perfect Circle > Puscifer Enough said. |

Also if I recall from "The Wretched" "The clouds will part and the sky cracks open And God himself will reach his fucking arm through Just to push you down, just to hold you down" |

| Nine Inch Nails – Adrift and at Peace Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I can't remember where I heard this... But I remember hearing that this song was supposed to take the place of "The Great Below" right after La Mer. It makes sense since both the songs sound exactly the same. As to what it means, I'm guessing the character in "The Fragile" has finally snapped under being under so much pressure, and doesn't care anymore... so he's "Adrift and at Peace" Plus if you listen really closely at the end, you can hear the sound of flies buzzing... |

| I always saw this song as the last little bit of solace before the earth is demolished by "The Presence"... | |
