I adore this song... every time I hear it I think of my ex we been apart for a long time, but I officially cut off contact almost 6 months ago, but sometimes it still hurts. When I hear this I think of him. Adele's ex got engaged and mine is now expecting a child so when I feel lonesome for him or sad I just remember her voice singing "let it burn." |

I don't really get the title, but I thought It was about a guy tired of love. I see a guy in an emotionally draining relationship meeting a woman he wants to sleep with "take me in your boat to those fiery shores I don't want to love anymore." I thought the "this man" referered to the person he becomes when he's tempted. |
