This song was inspired originally by a close friend his, who was going through a hard time and he worried about him. I feel that the whole song is about reaching out to someone who doesn't feel like anything would be worth it to go forward, a feeling some of us get sometimes. | This song.. so beautiful in melody and lyrical content.. means to me that all these feelings one feels for another has to be kept secret.. it sounds like these feelings are somehow cynical, selfish almost, like he's not supposed to feel them. Putting them in the basement, meaning here are my thoughts.. don't bring them back up, I just want to let you know. sometimes thoughts are an overwhelming burden. hard to contain to only yourself even when you know you should. I like this song a lot. :-) | |
