i feel as though this song is about a couple who communicate through negativity and sarcasm 'expecting the worst with every word'. even though they might not intentionally be insulting the other, both are quick to leap to the worst conclusions and say things that ring in their head long after...probably causing them to anticipate/start another fight. i love the last line too because i feel like he is so busy fighting with her that only during the breaks does he realise how much he hates hurting...but they can't stop. amazing song. |

| i love this song, its pretty much my favorite song by them. The simplicity of the lyrics really show how much emotion he can put into a song - and i dont know many people who can do that. I feel like he is consumed by a relationship. On one hand he knows how terribly the woman treats him and tells her to back up and leave him alone. Yet at the same time its 'just for a little while' because soon they'll do it one more time in just a little while. | |
