| Sparklehorse – Sick of Goodbyes Lyrics | 15 years ago |

to me, it seems to be about a guy who can't get his thoughts straight, and always regrets it. at the end of the day he feels like crap because he didn't accomplish/say any of the stuff he wanted to accomplish/say (The night comes crawling in on all fours / Sucking up my dreams through the floor)... i'm pretty sure that it's just about a guy having difficulty talking to a girl he likes (which is why he goes "no one sees you like i do.) |

| This is the clean version of the song. The lyrics here are from the explicit version. | |
| Green Day – Bab's Uvula Who? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Actually, it's about Billie Joe's panic attacks. He suffers from those too. But not as much anymore. | |
| Green Day – Peacemaker Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Although the band has said that Christian and Gloria aren't really part of a story so much as people who act as symbols (Gloria represents people who try to carry the torch, and Christian represents the type of people who like to burn things down with the torch), this does kind of make sense. I don't necessarily believe it, but hey, whatever floats your boat. | |

| I'm surprised that no one has talked about how this song is about BILLIE JOE's PANIC ATTACKs and how he feels about them. | |
| Shinedown – Save Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |

to start off, the phrase: under the windowsill they all were found a touch of concrete within the doorway without a sound means that the lead singer either killed some people by hiding them underneath a window sill (so they wouldnt be noticed if someone looked THROUGH the window), and then put concrete around the doorway so that the people couldnt breathe. or that since he lives in this "hallway with do doors and no rooms", maybe all that is in this hallway is a window, metaphorically speaking. maybe his addiction is represented by this window, which is too small to get out of or do anything with. but it would be really hard to get rid of this window. Or that people were giving themselves drugs underneath the windowsill so they wouldnt get caught, and, since concrete normally means hard and permanent, it seems that the phrase "a touch of concrete within the doorway" means that within that room, people were permanently giving their lives away to drugs, or that they were (this sounds stupid i know, but when you are crazy on drugs, who knows what youll do?) they somehow temporarily sealed the doors with concrete or some similar material, so that the door would be harder to open so that it would be less likely for people to see what they were doing? |

| Shinedown – Heroes Lyrics | 17 years ago |

to me, it seems like what they are trying to say is that there arent really all that many heroes out there in the world anymore. (and i dont mean the ones who wear tights, either.) people lie, cheat, and steal, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. "Stare in wonder, who's here to bring you down? Find your martyr, I'm sure you've made the crown" this is the typical thing that happens to the villains in all of the cartoons. start an evil plan, wait till someone finds out, when they come to get you, act surprised. also in the cartoons are the people who work for the villain. "So light a fire under my bones, so when I die for you, at least I'll die alone" at first i thought this meant that the hero was finally giving up. but now, i think "at least i'll die alone" means that when the hero dies, at least it wont be in vain. "Ain't nothing for me to end up like this There's no comparing me this time" this is where it starts to become apparent that this is about a guy trying to replace his heroes. All my heroes have now become ghosts Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most All my heroes are dead and gone But they're inside of me, they still live on i think this doesnt need much explaining. “Dark devotion in a vacant paradise Shows no emotion to a willing sacrifice” This make perfect sense to me. People often try to fill voids in their lives. This person fills their void with “dark devotion”; they fill it by trying to get what they don’t have, and they will do ANYTHING to get it. If you are willing to give those people what they want, then why would they want it anymore???? The fun of the chase is gone!!!! “You can put a man on trial, but you can't make the guilty pay And you can cage an animal, but you can't take away the rage” this just says that the truly evil, regardless of what you do to them, will always be the truly evil. All that’s left is the refrain again, but im not gonna retype that. In all, this song is about how more people should be good. Hope this helps!!!! Simonalisa94 |
