I feel right, the music sounds better with you, Love might, bring us back together. And as for the meaning of the song; It's about getting back with an ex. They are at party/ club of some sort and music is playing. It sounds better when they are enjoying it together, as opposed to alone. They feel 'right' and putting aside what seperated them, the music is bringing them back together. It's house music - it has that effect on people. ^_~ |

when i first heard this song, the line: "'cause I'm Mr. Brightside" made me think that the singer was a school teacher as they are usually referred to as Mr.Somebody or Mrs.Somebody. so i think its about a school teacher falling in love with one of his pupils but knowing it is very wrong. Yet he can't help himself. The third person, the other man/boy, is the girls new boyfriend and the singer is jealous of their relationship as it is legitimate and acceptable. Unlike the one he had with the girl. This makes him very bitter and obsessed; literally killing him and ruining his life. once more, the line: "cause i'm mr brightside" is him shouting out who he is, trying to prove himself worthy as he starts to go a little bit mad. |
