Ravenbomb has the closest interpretation to mine. I think this song is about the success of "The Real Thing". TRT was their "Bouncing little baby/ Shiny Copper Penny". "Things worked out better than we had planned", they were a lot more successful then they expected and it grew out of control, "but how were we to know he's counterfeit, now everythings ruined". Counterfeit A.K.A. not "The Real Thing", now everythings ruined. |
