My boyfriend (ex-boyfriend now i guess..) broke up 2 days ago. and im just listening to my sister's ipod because i dont have mine with me and i listening to coldplay. and this song is literally just hitting the spot with the lyrics we've been texting all weekend but i wanted space to get over the relationship but he wants to talk to me about how both of us are feeling - thats his way of making him better/helping him move on. but i really do need space, but at th same time he's my best friend and i want to talk to him because i've always been able to talk to him about anything and everything, and espcially something like this if something was making me feel this emotional i would be straight away truning to him. but i just can't turn to him about us breaking up. the first 2 line of "Come up to meet you / Tell you I'm sorry" is how i feel and how he feels. id love to meet up with him again and tell him how i feel and how sorry i am that both of us didn't work out (because it was a mutual decision in the end. we both 'agreed' to break up i guess you'd say) and so im so so sorry that we didnt work out. and then i'm also sorry that i cant talk to him the way he needs me to talk to him. but i just can't discuss all my feelings over the break up with him. it would be too weird. and then i want to tell him how lovely he is. because he is just the nicest guy i know. and his texts to me over the weekend have just been incredibly sweet and im so happy i know someone like him but soo sad that we've now broken up and someone as lovely and nice as he is isn't my boyfriend anymore. "You don't know how lovely you are" - i want to tell him that...but i just can't. I had to find you Tell you I need you Tell you I set you apart "Tell me your secrets And ask me your questions" - and he wants us to talk. but i can't. and he wants me to tell me my secrets and for me to continue the way we always had. when we broke up he said "but i want us to stay best friends. like in the future i see us being really relaly close friends." and i do feel the same but i NEED space from him right now. and since we have broken up ive thought of a million and one things to say to him about my day, like things ive heard or thoughts ive had. i want to tell him so many little things. i want to ask him questions. i want to know how he's feeling. but i need space from him to get over him. things have changed, and we need to change our behavious towards each other. "Oh, let's go back to the start" - i hate endings. someone said it near the very start of the comments but endings are just THE WORST thing ever. i just hate endings that are sad. and it would be lovely to go back to the start to when we were happy and hopeful over the future. and its just wishful thinking because u have to move on. and i know in the future i will be fine. it's just raw at the moment. and i know that it is the right decision to seperate right now. its the right time. "Running in circles" - this links into the above comment for me because this break-up has been coming for a while. since before christmas. but then we wouldnt break up and we'd stay together...but we both knew, but couldnt admit it, that it wasnt the same and we were just running in circles.. Calling tails Heads on a silence apart - i dont actually understand these 2 lines in the song...????? Nobody said it was easy It's such a shame for us to part - it is a shame to part. because its just sad that its an end to that part of my life. its just sad. it would be absolutley lovely if everyone found one person at the start and was with them and happy and healthy with them for the rest of their lives. but it doesnt work like that. and sad things happen. but it is a shame when it does happen. Nobody said it was easy "No one ever said it would be this hard" - this relates more to him than me. i knew that it was going to be hard and sad. but i think he didnt realise as much as me because he did text me today saying tht he said to his mom and sister that he was harder than he thought it was going to be. i think he's a little shocked at how he feels. i wonder if its cause ive read more books - i cry at really sad stories like "on chesil beach" (which is being made into a movie in 2012 - its by the same author who wrote atonement). on chesil beach - ive only read it once ages ago - probably 2 years ago...definitely after atonement came out so 2008ish maybe - and i remember one line at the end where it says "and she (the main character) never found anyone for the rest of her life that she liked more than him" and im SCARED that i won't find someone as nice as him. he had his bad points. but he really is SUCH a nice nice boy and its scary to think i might not find someone else as nice as he is. Oh, take me back to the start ........... the first verse and the chorus just really speak to me right now....:( |
