My boyfriend picked up on this song first. It's a genius song, which to me is about feeling left behind in a modern age in which one doesn't belong. About belonging to another time that you still kind of long for, but realize it has long since passed. Makes me sad, but I love it. |

This might sound pathetic, I don't know... I'm almost 30 years old, and my Mom has always loved "My" music, i.e. Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Garbage, etc. My Mom and Dad divorced about 10 years ago now, and I remember coming home one weekend during college when she had picked up this album. She told me, "Listen to this song. It's how I feel about your father..." Still breaks my heart every time I hear it. |
