Yes that makes sense but what about the part when jay says but I know what no one knows Were the same, undefined by you As you're living through my eyes I mean so what is he saying that he is like her.. but she doesn't realize it ? Im not really sure i mean every other part of this song points to what Dead has said but this one.. Confuses me anyone have any ideas?! |

I guess talking about how high schools a ride and you cant just think it all gonna be peachy you have your social enemies, h/w, teachers and more.. It's an odyssey maybe talking about a new kid.. Haha i agree with two people Agni_Dragon and redskinnyred but never mind how they f****** suck alright i spent my time reading most of these comments and they all about how No doubt changed, No doubt sucks, no Hella good is hella shit! WE DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS IF IT SUCKS! okay!? we're here to discuss the bloody meaning of the song not bash and trash about it stop being so judgmental of bands because they change to try and get more fans. Maybe she is smart like staticstarlet said maybe she was influenced misunderstood like many are to be complex shallow ego and vain but or she IS all that but for some reason she knows something that is very important and smart I'm not really sure this song can be interpreted in both ways. But seeing since they mention more of her being this ego stuck up vain girl maybe thats what it is Knowing someone you know can be better but around some people act like that in order to stay at the top. |

It's about i think struggling to believe. Now some say it isn't to do with god but i do i mean from what if read matts believed and not believed so i guess explaining his state in faith how he wants to believe but maybe theres just something not their not enough for him to grip onto his faith enough "I need to believe But I still want more" so i guess loosing it but then going back always for more but he doesn't know why. "And faith It drives me away But it turns me on Like a stranger's love" Or iy could be something els to do with believing but what ever it is it's basically wanting to believe but you don't and theres something alluring about it that keeps making you want too. I think this songs speaks about someone setting goals for the future that could well and truly be evil something big, and the person really doesn't feel it's right and sees these gaols are like taking over. "Grounded Boxed in " So they're so caught up into these thoughts and ambitions and want it so bad and it lures them that they cant give up on it "Just wait and see A future that won't let you disagree " Weird.. and i know someone just like that :S |

Ineresting lauradonaghy because that is exactly situation i have right now.. And when I read it seems like Someone who Loves someone but got to see who they really were and arguments arose frequintly so they started to think differently hence "But i'm tired of the fighting Tired of the fighting" So i guess in some sense your interpretation is pretty good and also the idea about it being about 9/11 if you really read it through you come to see it could be about that not just relationships falling apart. |
