To me this song is about friends... the kind we have when we know we're doing bad things and there they are trying to show us that we are doing completely wrong. Everybody knows the drug problems Layne had and seemed that he had this so-called "friend" (A word so wrongfully abused... ) that accordin to Layne may be equally confused and alone just like he was. The references about shapes, colors and figures represent altered drugged states and the pupil being dilated I assumed it is a reference of Layne noting lies in his friend (pupil dilation is a lie detection technique), maybe not be a honest attitude. Layne talking about a child and innocense and saying that he's near his 28 and being "still young" probably means early problems from Layne's and a hope from him to get over them by himself. This friend seems to have hopes on Layne's improvement (drug problem) and says that Layne "can do it so well". Layne is upset and tells his friend "Don't fuck with me again" with this attitude (not so honest in Layne's opinion) because it "makes his pupil dilate" (lie). Well just my opinion... This is a great depressive song, one of AIC's best... |

To me this is the perfect definition of depression and drug escapism... Garcia sings about the desperation of being completely alone expecting nothing from nobody. It's the same feeling if you are on the "cliffs of the world" or "the edge of the room", in the end nothin changes the fact that you're alone wanting some kind of answer that never comes at all (waiting is hard and takes so long). He talks about earth acid... an obvious reference to drugs and the way they're used to escape the problem... |

I think this is about an insecure guy probably with some sort of feeling (desire) toward a woman... The song mixes several aspects such as loneliness and insecureness and represents them phisically as the size of a pennis. One Inch Man, [lonely] soul. Two Inch Man gimme more. Three steps and/enough, get him up (Initially he feels lonely with no desire at all, suddenly he realizes of someone who turns him on [from one to two inches and wanting more]. Then he tries to get closer to this person but then regrets [5 steps and back], three steps are enough to get "him" up again) Always so lonely, lonely, lonely (X3). To me, this song is about Brant Bjork's departure from the band. Since "Welcome to Sky Valley" was the last album with Bjork, this seems to be like a good-bye song to him. So this song is a continous conversation between one group of persons and a guy who's leaving (Brant?).. El dice que no es suficiente estar asi, y que la única forma de que llegue a conocerlo es encontrandose. He used to love this girl, then, she had to go away, time passed and they meet again (your eyes both look just the same). I´ve been listening to this shit for weeks and have never got tired of it... One of the best pieces of music that Kyuss dared to create. First of all I seem to have listened "Feeling sent to me" instead of "feeling sensibly", but who cares... I think this song is about a person with a split personality. All trough the song is Garcia singing one part of the melody and there´s another man answering him as whispering. The "first" person seems pretty upset about something the "second" person did and here we can relate the "Did I say too much" "Did I hate too much" parts. In the begging the first personality is aware and tries to get rid of the second, but in the end the second one convinces the first and they agree to keep getting along as usual but one of them don´t seem to be happy about it. Well, this explanation is freaking sick but I think it fits with the lyric and with the music too, just listen to the last riff.... I liked the "friends" explanation above too |

mmmm I´m pretty sure there´s a part where the line is "if you wanna try to turn my knees" or something like this... anyway this song is badass. To me, this song is about rebelling to somebody or something... I mean, all of us have always somebody trying to ride for free, trying to turn our knees in order to be superior or just trrying our personal needs... this song is kind of a middle finger to those persons... Dont try my needs or that is the same I do to you fukr. In the other hand... a more simple explanation fits too, something like a user trying to defend his/her portion of drug. Johnny, please get your own part of sunshine.. haha. Personally, I think my first explanation is better.. |
