| Arcade Fire – Goodnight Boy Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I have a version of this song that has a bunch of background noise. At one point, one of the girls says, "there was a mic here?" I think it was an english assignment he did when he was a kid, actually. Like sometimes you have to write narratve. Maybe he found it somewhere and decided to write it. It sort of reads like a story written by a little kid, though, without a doubt, a talented one. As far as the story goes, I think you guys hit it. I take it that the village is angry at him for some reason, and have came after him and the town mayor and his son. Of course the boy gives them away, and the townspeople rush in. It's a good song. |

I dont know if it's about Joe Simpson. I frankly dont care and will try to put that thought out of my head. However, it does have a very, very personal meaning from me. And actually, the Jessica Simpson thing sort of... fits. Which is mean and ungrateful of me. I don't know if I want to publish my personal meaning from it on the web. It has a lot to do with pressure and money specifically, though. The theme, I think, is that the world isnt JUST money. At the VERY end, though... first time I heard it, I got goosebumps from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. The Arcade Fire is freaking epic every time. |

NO, I dont see any political statement here. However, I vividly see some teenage boy that is forced to be the man of the house after his mother died and the father had quit his job to work for the church. I think it's more of a religious statement than a political one. I know people who have become consumed by their church. Everything becomes meaningless to them. It's sad. This seems to be about that to me. The Arcade Fire is one of the best bands ever. Every song could be dissected and found a work of art. Hard to say that about some (Brittany Spears, anyone?) |

| The Postal Service – We Will Become Silhouettes Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Romantic in a way that only apocalyptic songs can be. I picture most vividly the news reports. I thought about that a couple of times after listening about it, the fact that the news only RECOMMENDED that people stay indoors. I thought "Why isnt that a law? If it'll kill you?" and the answer was inherently obvious. Who cares about some stupid law if it's basically suicide right? The very first time I heard it was when I was downtown coming out of a cigar shop with my dad and sister. I was daydreaming of course, and the sun was sort of sideways in the sky enough that I could see my silhouette. They fell behind a little, and i was like... Where is the other one? i have yet to find another "silhouette" that would apply in such a romantic way, but that will be engraved in my memory for a long time. |

| Sea Wolf – You're A Wolf Lyrics | 17 years ago |

What it reminds me of is that not everyone is suited for a life in a small town. Personally i've wrestled with this issue, not fitting in and yet trying my best. It also seems to say that i may not find my soul mate here, but I will eventually. The narrative is very good. Particularly the part about "her lips being stained red from a bottle of wine" it conjures up an image not only of red lips, but of a gypsy woman that is so vivid, if I were to see her in the real world, I would probably recognize her. "You're a wolf, boy, get out of this town." Magic. |

| Band of Horses – No One's Gonna Love You Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Band of Horses is such a beautiful, haunting group. I've gotta say, though, people, hop on iTunes and buy (or aquire, lol) a playlist called Study Rock. It's an iTunes Essential, and oh my GOSH. It has been rocking my world for three days. |

Hmm.... What is frustrating to me is that it's so relate able. i like this guy at school and he likes me but neither of us has the guts to ask the other out. Ugh. And that's just the first guy I liked this year... There's others, but I cant get too specific about that. Also, I have to deal with my friends crushing on each other and not ever doing anything about it. I hang out in threes usually, me, a girl, and a guy, who always likes my friend. I guess it's POSSIBLE that they could like me... but not too likely. However, I think the whole "stalking" thing is a little bit romantic... admit it, girls, we like to be pursued. It's pretty encouraging, actually, to see all these guys on here that are shy. |
