Mineral is not a Christian band, but their lyrics are christian... Mineral purpose is not worship or something, it is just what comes from the inside. "And I want to know the difference between What sparkles and what is gold I wonder how many eyes Are fixed like a vulture's on me" I guess this song is about hypocrisy. But I like to interpret these lines in a different way: a person found what's gold and then other persons look at him like vultures, because they don't have true gold in their lifes because of their selfishness and envy. These lines touch me so fundamentally... By the way, anyone feels that Chris Simpson belongs to Catholic Church? "The humble and righteous and meek" - it's so Catholic... |

| Main motive is clearly about getting back home. Where? To whom? Back home in/to Christ. | |

Thank you, DarkerShadeofWinter :) Now, after one month, i can say that to be completely honest with the people you love the most was the best decision in my life. It's not so hard when you are not loved because someday (really soon) you will be loved. it's much harder when you can't love. Don't be afraid to love - don't be afraid to rejoice. Being and living for each other. I've always thought that Christianity is about this. |

I'm not pretending to explain this song, but i'll comment from my perspective. I have relations with a girl, but i'm afraid to love her with all my soul, because i'm not sure what i truly mean to her. "How will I drink from that stream How will my heart sing your praise How will I lay down in green grass fields When my soul is so afraid to" So how will i love her if i'm afraid? It is said that if you want to be loved, you have to love first. So i released my fear and i'll tell her everything. I'm open for her. I'm not afraid to love (and to be wounded) and to rejoice no more. Mineral is a wonderful band. It helped me to find true things and Jesus. At first their songs sound so depressing but after all it makes you appreciate every second of life, everyone you meet, it makes you not afraid to face true things. It shows you positive things and you can wake up in the morning with a smile on your face and be happy because you have those true things and you're not afraid. You can say that God sent Mineral, but it's not true. God sent all of us to this world and it's up to us what we will choose - bad things or good and true things. We can help each other to choose. Don't be afraid to rejoice. |
