At first I thought the lyrics had nothing to do with the video. The lyrics seemed to be about a boy losing his girl while the video seemed to be about Amy Winehouse. But after listening and watching a few times, I decided that the lyrics and video were both about the same thing. The girl (Elisha Cuthbert) was secondary but kinda looked like the Star thanks to her fame. But the song is about the guy... both in words and in video, he is a guy who lacks confidence and lets opportunitites slip pass because he is afraid to take risks. In the lyrics, he loses the girl, but in the video, he musters the courage to come on stage and finally achieve the potential that he has always had, but was afraid to show. |
