I think this song is about the singer trying to warn you about some unpredictable bitch that appears innocent, but she'll ruin you in the end. She is referred to as a drug (you're 'addicted' to her), and you're in deep shit if you get addicted to her. You just can't say no to her, so she can do almost everything she wants. I'm in kind of a similar situation right now, and I can really put these lyrics in that particular context. |

I think this song is about depression. Blaming yourself for shit you've caused. Trying to find your way out, without any hope of relief. "Hopeless... demon of another day": refers to the shit that caused the depression "Colorless... stoned, solid grey": the numb, colorless feeling of depression "Emptiness... of promises I made": the feeling that you can't satisfy everyone, and he's broken some promises I think "So faithless... the tenants long betrayed": he's given up hope a long time ago "Accusations and denial": I think he's blaming himself too much, and denying his feelings and thoughts "Familiar touch, a ritual to numb the cut": I think he's trying to do things he once used to like, to numb the pain "Anguish is realizing what could have been, but never was It's emptiness that fills the cup": he is disappointed about the mistakes he once made, that made it this way; he regrets it and he now feels empty "Devotion in the method of my fall": he tried to please everyone, go through deep shit just for them... and that made his own problems get worse and eventually get him in this situation "Walk the faded line, cursed crawl of time Silence, the only promise ever kept": he just tries to live, as far as he is able to. He is now closed and he doesn't trust anyone. He doesn't think it will ever get better again: "It's fucking hopeless". This is just my point of view, I'd like to know what you think about it.
