| Cake – Italian Leather Sofa Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The "serrated edge" is a chainsaw ("she doesnt have to use force") She got what she wanted (his money) so she "puts the rest in a ziploc bag in the freezer". She's a gold-digger. Yep, she put her rich geezer in the freezer. |

If someone met me before I bacame a FOTC fan and they sang this song to me.....I'd be all over them. No lie. "What are you insinuating?" "Well, I mean...you've done it. With a lady." "Yes." "What's it like?" *Monty Python FO LIFE |

| Mindless Self Indulgence – On It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm under the impression that most of the song is about a really emotionally closed relationship which is being screwed up by both people being competitive in the same industry (I'm gonna be the one with my face in a magazine) The singer, however, realizes how screwed up the relationship is and uses it to degrade her by making it all about sex ("In the morning I have cum Rock the walls, rock the bass In the morning I'm gone Putting you in your place"). And even though he still pulls this really mean crap on her...the song does show signs of a conscious ("I'm gonna be the one I have to face") |

| Barenaked Ladies – Alcohol Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love the whole "But now I know that there’s A time and theres a place where I can choose To walk the fine line between self-control and self-abuse". Ironic because what is the fine line? Very easy to slip out of control. Many alcoholics think that they can walk that line, even when they are stumbling around on their sobriety tests. a deeply depressing song with a very happy and catchy melody |

| The Beach Boys – God Only Knows Lyrics | 17 years ago |

this song was SO perfect during the end of Boogie Nights; its a great song, and the lyrics are totally heart-renderingly bittersweet placed side by side with Dirk's dependency on the industry. Movie perfection |

| The Bird and the Bee – Polite Dance Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
GREAT MUSIC VIDEO! If you like the song, you'll like it 10x better after seeing the video! The song is about about a girl with a clear sexual desire for someone, but she and this person are (ugh) too "polite" to show it. So the girl is "politely" saying some very suggestive requests. (Good for her!) |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Boomin' Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Its just a song about a guy who's "boomin' at [his] woman" and this girl is the ever-changing "one" (depending on who he is "boomin"). hahaha...msi is hard to decipher....i agree with Maddermadcat. Well said mademoiselle/monsieur. |

| They Might Be Giants – Spines Lyrics | 17 years ago |
FIRST ONE! I think this song is about the fact that all of the body's actions are dependent on the neural communication up your spine. Thus the song almost reduces all these expressive actions to the actions of the spine. |

| They Might Be Giants – The Bells Are Ringing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think you all have a great interpretation of the song...Im sayin that its all of these things. Nothing specific, just an exaggeration of the toxic and strong poison that is "groupthink" as well as the dangers of complete trust in the government (esp in despotism). These ppl are brainwashed, to the point that the one individual who wishes to keep out of it is robbed of her intellectual freedom by the masses/the gov't/the society's pressure. | |
| They Might Be Giants – Prevenge Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is about a dude who has been burned by his friends before, so he's all paranoid now... So he is like invited to a party, where all his girl friends are "making it up" (liking him) and his "ride" to the party from his friends "doesn't exist". Of course, not all of this is proven yet, the singer assumes that this is the truth. He is pissed about this thought, and is thus planning "prevenge" for these actions that are to take place in the future. |
| They Might Be Giants – Sleepwalkers Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is about the dream-state of childhood. It is transient and the narrator, an adult, fears that the others will wake them from this phenomenon of almost blind innocence. Of course, that routine thing previously stated is pretty interesting too... |
