Definately a favorite. When I hear it it sounds to me as though he is not illustrating a female who is intentially hurting him. There are a variety of mental illnesses that create in one person a beauty that you wont find elsewhere, but with that also comes some ugly (mess). That's just what I hear. I am bipolar and I swing between wondering how my husband got so lucky to have me and then how can he stand me :-) This is how I hear the song... Great stuff! |

I didn't see any mention of the fact that a child is an empty cup that needs to be full of innocence. The time is all too short for childhood sans the drama of divorce. He said he hasn't had enough. I loved it when he talks says what a fool he would be to complain. I know that when we look back as kids who were ignored during those years we realize that we would have rather had curfews, rules, parents at home once in awhile, and heaven forbid a meal together. He puts words to feelings that I hadn't fully worked out, and he does it soooo beautifully. "I'm far too old to care about that now" |

This song just warms my heart. It is so easy in the world today to become so disheartened. I feel like Jason Mraz is trying to tell us that we are this amazing creation, and that showing our gratitude by living life in a beautiful way. I feel like he has put beautiful words to religion, non-denominationally. "The congregation in my mind..." I really feel like Mraz has brought such an untangled way to view the beauty of the life that we all have. I have not been moved by an artists lyrics in the way that Mraz is moving me in a very long time. Life is enhanced exponentially because of artists like this :) |
