Plus one to Taverner for hitting the nail squarely on the head. The whole song is one long list of euphemisms culminating in the line that Tav quoted. The final line of, "Freak out, Far out, In Out" says it all really. Almost makes me wish I was gay too :D |

I've got to stick my vote behind Rammsteingirl on this one. It's quite clearly about peoples passing into middle/old age and seeing the coming generation of children being the ones living the dream and advancing the human race. Where once they were the youth looking up at their parents and seeing how stuck in their views they were, knowing that they could make a much better world, they know have to realise that they are not the young ones with the bright ideas but the old guard - stuck in their ways. I think the best line of the song sums it up to perfection. Gotta make way for the homo superior. A concept he may have borrowed from Nietsche but in doing so he uses it to refer to all young people rather than a specific creed. |

A lovely cheerful song which serves as the antidote to the preceding Blind Curve. A good job considering the anguish that you'd be left with otherwise :D
I've never been truly clear on the magpie imagery but I assume it served as an inspiration at some low point in his life sometime. Nature has a habit of doing that I find. |

I think the threshold that's being refered to is the limit of his own mind to continue to take all the world's trauma. Hearing him sing it you can feel his exhasperation at the events unfolding. Great to fully understand the events surrounding the Mylo section. I had guessed at something akin to that but it makes you realise what the stars that we often ridicule for being weak actually have to go through. |
