Here's what I think and says me gdh82 is deffinately right. I'm long winded... -When I you pay attention to the lyrics he's talkin about there's a path already made for him and that's the road everyone's goin on but he's distracted by the open door that NOBODY goes in. It makes him nervous cause it's something new and untouched, and he wants to go through but people are always afraid of what they don't know. -2nd verse he's snubbing the normal values and rules set by society and doin his own thing weather it's "good" or "bad". -Then he returns to where he started and everyone everything he learned. Most importantly they wanna know are we human or dancers. Humans are the most evolved top of the line predators or whatever. The point is that we're supposed to be superior. Dancers are puppets which are used to make up something bigger (a play?) or whatever and they're inferior to their controller. So are we the most superior life force or is there something bigger? He never said what we are if you notice. That's cause YOU are supposed to come up with YOUR OWN OPINION. I think it's a clever song to think on. |

Flip all the parts where she says him to her and it hits RIGHT AT ME....LEAVE ME FOR A CHICK?!!! Overall the chorus are really immature and it reminds me of 'You Oughta Know' cept not as good! I'm a guy and I find this song freakin AMAZING. EVERY line in the song is PERFECT. (Well i dont care too much for the hold me till you died part) But yeah you dont even have to only connect it to being about some bitch (or dick) like if somebody screws me over period I blast this song (if only in my head) and sing it and suddenly you feel a hell a lot better!!! I don't know what it means according to Evanescence but for me I connected really well with the empty darkness the song talks about. For me idk what that is but for her i guess its some dude? He’s the leader and as leader you should know before you start YOU ARE RESPONISBLE for all good things AND all bad things. We chose him to do all the things that we can’t do. He’s been given this platform as one of THE MOST INFUENTAL BEINGS IN THE WORLD and hasn’t used it a lick worth mentioning. If you have the power to do great things and improve the state of the world you don't watch it burn if you care about it. Be honest folks. If 3 of 4 historians, whose job it is to be unbiased, hail President Bush as one of, if not THE worst president in our history then how could you think he’s so great. Yeah I checked ALL of the facts so I’m not down to hear the bullox. ABOUT THE SONG…Well it was brilliant marketing but I think she agreed with the song writing it herself. Furthermore she’s human. Don't tell me you’ve never said, done, or wanted to do something that was just dumb. That’s what her stupider songs show you. She’s also painted as the big mouthed bi*** so the song was actually perfect for her. |
