Joanna Newsom – The Fray Lyrics 15 years ago
I always sort of thought it might be about cheerleaders-- "luscious and lean" "tumbling and dancing" and "in a horrible state of undress"? Well, I don't know what she's trying to say, but I hear some kind of criticism of that particular kind of spectatorship...

The Rural Alberta Advantage – The Ballad of the RAA Lyrics 17 years ago
I think the chorus is talking about the things he's traded, moving from AB to ON: [?] for Dundas, my parents for your dad, the Rockies for the Great Lakes.. The [?] is probably some street in AB; I wish I knew which.

Does anyone hear the Sean Nelson vocals on this song? I listen for them but can't hear them.

Frankly, I think when he said that, he was just talking nonsense. That is what they mostly did at that show..

Yeah.. I was also going to say that devise was one syllable too short. If you listen to it carefully I think you'll be able to hear that when Canning sings 'will' right before, the transition is pretty clearly into a 'b' and not a 'd' sound..

I also have the mastered version, and I've been listening to it on big speakers at decently high volumes and getting some other people's opinions on it and we're not hearing 'devise'. It appears we are at an impasse.

'devise' pronounced with a random 'l' in the middle of it? I can't really hear it.

I think this song is a postmodern critique of religion.
