Serj Tankian.....now what if the real serj wanted to register under that name and would start commenting the ACTUAL meaning of all his songs over here? :( Sacred Silence and sleep might be about the Silence people observe while doing religious duties(praying, attending church)and the fact that theyre asleep to the reality of the world. |

| The piracy vs non-piracy debate....no real solution. What was the name of the album this song was in?I can only find one SOAD album here(blore), the untitled one with a hand on the cover. I have most of its songs....i wanted to buy atleast ONE SOAD album they deserve the proceeds. Being in hiatus means they still receive the proceeds from any purchase right? its not officially a break-up(although its permanent serj sed recently :( ) | |

Wow im suprisd noone has d meaning, since this is their most well known song. I dont either :-p. I think its about the vast amount of poverty present tat we all turn a blind eye to.how were always switching from one new software to another(new trends) wile poverty stares at life(tire hub means poverty). Getting high is their only entertainment,(eating seeds). New! How does each new government think its ruling when it neglects the poverty? How can it control the disorder in absolute poverty?I dunno bout rest. Sacred silence and sleep. Awesome lines. |

Its the same for all his songs. He said in an interview that what the song means is more upto us, the audience, than him. Each song means something else for each person. Sounds to me like the end of good days "the sky is over" is the main theme, the good times of our lives are over.....we cannot reach for new height anymore our dreams are crushed. |
