Paramore – Hallelujah Lyrics 16 years ago
there are no "wrong" responses to songs. Everyone interprets music in their own way. Of course, the artist writes songs based on their own personal experiences etc., but everyone interprets it in their own way and each interpretation is beautiful, just like yours. :)

I was going to read ur long reply but u said people have the "wrong idea" of what the song meaning is and i stopped. There is no "right meaning". Everyone has their own interpretation of what the meaning of the song is and they are all right.

Bring Me the Horizon – Chelsea Smile Lyrics 17 years ago
My interpretation of the song is this:

At the beginning he speaks of having a secret...its on the tip of his tongue. He feels it inside of him and it feels like its going to come out but he cant confess it. Maybe it is something hes done that he knows is wrong. Then it goes on to say it sits in silence and eats away at him. This heavy burden is eating away at him. He knows what hes done is wrong and he can't take what hes going through. He then says falling and failing is all i know. He feels like all he can do is fail and he doesnt think he can do anything right. And about the whole chealsea smile deal..i think its just his way of saying and showing how miserable he is..he is so miserable that the only way you will get him to smile is to give him the chealsea smile...he is so unhappy that he doesnt smile on the inside or whatever..the only way to get him to smile is to force it upon him. Then he goes on to say that you can see the shame inside of him. Then at this next part i think he is talking about what he has heard he is supposed to do about this guilt. Repent! I think Oli has heard of Jesus Christ and knows the bible but im not sure that he accepts it. He also refers to the bible numerous times in other songs. Next he relates to everyone. He says we all carry these burdens that no one usually sees. And he speaks of how everyone has to deal with this guilt. Then when he says he looks up to the sky, there may be nothing there to see. I think here he is questioning Jesus/ God's existence. Then at the very end he asks if i dont believe in him (God) why would he believe in me? I think this is another reference to Oli's doubt that God exists. He wonders why God would believe and want to grow closer to Oli if he doesnt believe in him. And the truth is God wants to be with all of us. We are his creation and he wants to love us and us to love him. Anyway ty for reading this =]...thats my interpretation of the song.

Underoath – Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Near Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is about the end of this planet. Most of the People of Earth have no idea what is coming to them. In the song, he talks about how all of these earthly possesions aren't going to be worth anything in the end. The people don't understand..."Someone stop this thing, turn it off". They want it to stop. They thought it was fiction. They thought it wasn't possible. But it won't be turned off. "Our hopes and dreams will be swallowed alive"... all of these pointless, worthless dreams will be shattered. Everything the average American works for and trys to achieve through his entire life will be absolutely meaningless. "WE ALWAYS SAID IT WOULDN'T END UP LIKE THIS". This can't be happening! We are supposed to rot in the ground! What is this?!?! This is immposible! People will be dumbfounded. Science tells us that it won't end up like this. We live our lives, then we die and rot. No. It also talks about us being cancer and a virus. Yes we are and continue to be every day. We wrap ourselves up in sin. It's EVERYWHERE. Every time we turn on the TV. We are the reason for this end. We go through all of this pain because we choose to sin. There will be a new heaven and Earth because this one is so sinful. This Earth will be destroyed because it is evil. And whos fault is it? Ours. "We always said it wouldn't end up like this."

Underoath – Writing on the Walls Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm going to agree with the song talking about a relationship with God. TO THOSE OF YOU WHO CANT MAKE SENSE OF THE VIDEO, this is my opinion: It starts out as a young boy and girl sitting. And He sings about a conversation between himself and God. A lot of times in the bible, our relationship with Jesus Christ is compared to a marrige. "We'll speak of what a waste I am". We are sinners and screw up all the time every day. A waste. "I swear we need to find some comfort in this run down place". He wants comfort in this crap world. He is surrounded by sin and it consumes him.(that is what all of the shots of the different people represent). "To bridge the gap of this conscious state that we live in". He says that we are sinners and that is the reason there is a gap between us and God. And he doesn't like the gap. Hes trying to get us to see that in our daily lives, we should try to live like God and be a light in this terrible, dieing, dark world. The rest of its self explanatory..i think that the dude who kills the father is a representation of sin or satan.I don't have much time to explain my full opinion but thats my overview of the song and it fits with the video...and btw at the end talks about leaving this trashed world. "I know there must be some way out of here and all of them will be waiting there". Amen.
