This song means many different things to me (only personally) it says many different things to many different people. I agree with the God aspect. And part of this song (for me) has to do with that- But then the other has to do with other people and even things in my life. Me for example would be one of them, my ex would be another. Even though she is my ex who she is in the memories is my hero, today. | If you've felt this, then you'll understand it. I know because I've felt it and I can understand it. Love is 12 different things and this is number 15... Love is overall doing something for someone regardless of how bad it hurts you (with-in reason) but you do it because you love them... And not caring about what it does to you but you do it because you love them more. I can sit here and pick apart the ways to make you understand how and why.. but theres really no point unless you really feel this way. And feel this way then I wouldn't need to pick everything apart to make you understand... you just would. One of my favorite songs. | |

I love this song and I think it is about someone who wants to be someone else, and have a life like that person for just one day. And the person he wants to be like or have just one day of their life.. wants the exact same thing. They want one day of his life... and live one day in his shoes. They both want a break from their own lives and see what its like to live just for one day in another persons shoes. Particularly in that persons shoes. And the overall meaning is just that, we sometimes just have what others would give anything for... regardless of what we "have"... they just want the experience of that situation. And no matter what... sometimes we may just feel that we want something more..or less. We never completely happy with what we have.. But I love this song. |

| I think its about soldiers in Iraq that are over facing every element, facing death almost every second, lying in a trench, waiting for the hell to keep coming of the war. A soldier speaking his mind, about his mom, everything. And hes tired of the shit (the war). And also about how people don't respect, what they are going through or their freedom in which they are over there fighting for. And they sick of not beig respected for the shit he went to so he screams it in the nonrespectors face. | |

Okay, I think that this song is talking about guys, the label girls and people have for them (dogs, pigs, walking pe-is) and it's talking about how guys have a reputation, and there sick of being good guys and having a reputation as a "dog". "To live inside the shortest nights We compromise our hearts To keep them satisfied The shadows of our past" ..."them" meaning women,girls. They are pretty much saying that most guys are good and descent at least they are, and they say what they mean.."i love you" (compromising our hearts) they love them but now they are what a most girls want guys to be towards them, and now they become the "dogs". The roles have reversed. And they just don't care anymore, they're sick of the reputation that is no longer true, they're sick of being labeled as that when the women/girls are doing that, while asing for a descent guy. (thats why they are't really any descent guys like us anymore, because of that). "I won't let this love die"... the love for themselves as who they really are (good descent guys) and the love for the kind of girl they're still looking for. just another point of view, |

Ok, I actually was saying goodbye to my ex girlfriend because shes not the same person I feel in love with. shes betraying who she is. She was the best person I've ever met in my life with the incredible morals, and by the way naturaly beautiful. And I think this song is talking about a guy (an ex) who is ashamed of himself for whatever he's done, and hes done everything he can to help bring her back to herself, who she really is. And I think the metaphors he used are talking about her killing herself, but also her killing who she is as a person. Almost like a funeral of the incredible person she was, "One drink and your candles burn" the girl may not be a drinker, but shes betraying herself and drinking. "Your colors running down" the colors of herself, her true colors. "If it was up to me, then you would cry tonight"... he would rather have her realize what shes doing, in which would make her cry, instead of having her continue these mistakes, her betraying herself. "when it's up too you, You kiss yourself goodbye" meaning that if he doesn't step in and make her realize what shes doing she'll never be her again. "When dreaming you, is so easy" its all about her and her wanting to be selfish and just party (not her) or he dreams of her coming back, thats all he can think about. Thats just one opinion. This song I think can mean alot of different things and can be taken 7 different ways, thats why it's a song, so everyone can realate to it. |
