Eric said in an interview about this song "when i was about 7 or 8 i had my first overnight at my friends zacks house. he lived down the street from my mom's. for some reason i was really uneasy about the whole idea of spending the night away from my mom. so when his mom put us to bed i waited until everyone was asleep and i jumped out of their second story window and ran back home. sometimes even though i'm older, my career feels like it's too much for me and i feel like i want to jump out of the window and run home to my mom. " So from that I think the second floor refers to fame and fortune and all the things being in a popular band would lead to and he's saying he'd much prefer to be down here with the " poor " or the fans. |

I can relate to this song so much, its scary. i take it in a different way. ' She got on a plane, and their miles apart ' in referring to the plane ,i think this girl isn't doing this on purpose to these guys because she's running away from them and the pain she's cause them she feels guilty but she just can't find what she's looking for so she does it repeatedly to different guys. shes not a bad person, she's just lost. woah. i think i looked too much into the lyrics but that's just how i took it. |
