Yeah i think this song is also about the christain faith, which even as an atheist, isnt even close to a good enough reason to love this song. Amazing song. |

I'm a huge fan of analyzing lyrics...but this is one of the hardest songs i have ever come across to try and break down what it could mean. The gut instinct inside me wants to believe that this song is about a guy who simply dies, for whatever reason, and turns out he's commited too many sins and is waiting in line for hell. As he's in line, he stops to think about what he's done in his life, and it occurs to him that he doesnt really deserve to be in hell. He thinks that people are going to hell for things far too petty. From dictionary.com-Overburdened:To burden with too much weight; overload...this tells me, for this song, the Christain religion is way too picky on what sends people to hell and worrying about things that are so minuscule. but... There is also a small part of me that thinks that there is a political/warfare reason behind this song, of which i wont really elaborate cause my backing for it is far less convincing; more of a hunch. |

| One Less Reason – Favorite Color Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is not about drugs or alcohol. As a follower of OLR for the last few years, i know all of there songs and not 1 of them refers to drugs or alcohol. OLR is your above average alternative, failed relationship type band, that being said... Verse 1: A guy is too afraid to say anything to this girl, cause hes afraid to offend her and she might leave, which he doesnt want to happen, even though she doesnt treat him well. Chorus: Guy states that he will always love this girl, no matter what. "A lot of people gonna be disappointed when they find out I love you, and I need you" refers to a situation we all know well. A friend or family member admits that he/she is still in love with someone, even after alot of time, and YOU cant help but think "He/she needed to let this go along time ago..." Verse 3: Simply describes lying awake in the early morning hours thinking about the someone we dont have anymore, and STILL are trying to make plans involving them. This is how i see it, and im not sure how it could be interpreted, but anywho... |

| The Offspring – You're Gonna Go Far, Kid Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I agree with a couple of other people. The Offspring really havent ever been much of a deep meaning sort of band, rather "this is how it is" sort of band. That being said i think that this song just talks about the greatness of youth. Have fun and enjoy yourself(dance fucker, dance) but also take the time to put forth some effort and you will succeed. (Man, you never had a chance and no even even knew that it really was only you) suggests that for whatever reason people didnt believe in you as a kid, but if you really want to, you can (Hit 'em right between the eyes), or make a big impact and show all the non believers up, and "Go far"... just my 2c. . . *shrugs* |
