THIS SONG SAVED US from seperating..i sang the first verse to my partner when our world was on the verge of collapse. he replied "you have the voice of an angel". the lyrics said exactly what i couldn't, i didn't want to talk about things anymore, my words all come out wrong and don't convey half of my message. i just wanted to cry in front of him for the first time in 5 yrs, i was taught that showing any emotion was a weakness and so i always kept mine hidden, but if i could be weak in front of him, let down my gaurd, admit i'm human and i make mistakes...i was asking him to pick me up...just in case i did fall to pieces...and he did just that. Seems to be a very powerful song that one. |

i used to sing this song out loud to myself while walking home from the pub night after night drunk and high on speed when i was a junkie. Now i'm clean and back on track the song is no longer my present, just the past that will forever scar what might have been a brighter future. When you live by yourself, nobody is ever home- but sometimes that's true even when you're not alone. I also think its a good showcase of avril's voice- and the lyrics have meaning, a better effort than some of her radio friendly pop. |

this song,like the band,is forever intertwined with my partner. When we were apart, the words of this song were what i wanted to say to him. i was forever reaching out but always came so close and yet i was still so far away. It speaks of longing, and hope, because we are all reaching out for something. It's painful to think we can want for something or someone so much. |
