yeh this is deffinately about a fight. some asshole spit on him or some shit he told the crowd to kick his ass. he was black. his dad tried to sue phil for it. "You Cry For Compensation" made it out to be a racial attack. cus phils a bald white guy and is from the south. but has explained how much racism pisses him off. so they knew it would be a nerve "You used complexion of my skin for a counter Rascist tool. -You can't burn me- I've spilled my guts out In the past. Taken advantage of because you know where I've come from" and the dudes dad said just give me five minutes alone with that phil anselmo. and phils response was just give me five minutes alone with that cats dad and i bet i'll whip his ass. yeh this song is amazing. one of the best riffs. very underated. GREAT lyrics. what its about i think. somewhat of his addictions to alcohol and drugs. about when he died perhaps, or even freaking out one night and told the rest of pantera he quit. but then came back and appologized up and down "its strange to be around again" or possibly back in his home town. also as nightshade has said the part "i fell in front of my friends i dropped out infront of the world, you call that supernatural??" like how embarrising that was and how like being in his celebrity positioning its like hes looked at as a god but really it just shows how like anyone else he really is also with the "But it's still alive And it's in me now And it lives and breathes But, I COULD CARE LESS!!!" his dad was an alcoholic and shit and he always hated him for it and the dude beat him and shit. see "25 years". And also i think as ive said about when he died on heroin and was revived "Black wings will weather your flight For some there's no second time" and yeh just mainly about his struggle with addictions that his father also had "its where you come from" and just getting fucked up and making rash decisions and saying shit you regret. "ive got a big mouth and theres alot to learn from a bottle of whiskey" anyway thats just what i think. anyone agree haha? |
