Like with all of Joanna's songs, it is easier, by far, to break down and understand the meaning of each verse than it is the whole song. And that's what I do. I understand each verse as it is but the hard part is putting it all together to understand Joanna's thoughts. Also, I think that Nietzsche quote is bogus. For some people, I'm sure they would just love the image of being profound but we should all know by now that that is not the case with Joanna. Her imagination has been running wild since she was born and just because she's older doesn't mean she's going to stop now. Now without trying to be rude in any way, I would like to say that instead of itching over the fact that that you can't quite grasp the meaning of her lyrics, maybe you should revisit your childhood dreams like she does, go back, and try again. Break everything down. |
