WOW, what an AWESOME song. One of my favorites!! I think he is talking about and too himself. hexum... i don't think he was referring to meth.. I think the "mouthful of cavities" line is referring to a reference to himself and his personality flaws. You can't see the mouthful of cavities until he smiles. You can't see him smile until you get to know him. The cavities are the shameful things he likes to hide about himself. "I know you're laughing from the inside out" is talking to that personality and saying pretty much that I hate you, but you're winning. You are making your way to the forefront of my personality. Instead of just being some little detail of my life, you are becoming me. (This would be his addiction he is speaking too). I think he had a female vocal on this voice on purpose as well... It's like an echo of his words, a second personality for this song. IDK... Shannon was too freakin deep. :) VERY PHENOMENAL writer though. :) RIP shannon!! |

katestoner... hm. yeah it's from a friggin children's show. Not about drugs lol.... However, areese it is found in Never Been Kissed with Drew Barrymore. Not sure about what else it's been in. :) cute song i love it |

atommiller... well said. This song just helps me deal. I've been in that place so many times, where you just sit and ask yourself how many more times your family and friends will forgive you and how long they're going to still be there for you b/c you just can't seem to climb out of that hole. beldark, i agree with you too!!
I'm so happy to see that Shannon's songs still touch so many lives! He really touched lives forever with his words, didn't he! :o) It's been thirteen years and he we are!! :D All of the songs seem to have a sort of timeless quality to them, I can see myself listening to them thirteen years from now. :) |
