| Tommy Johnson – Big Road Blues Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song greatly influenced Canned Heat's masterpiece, 'On The Road Again'. | |
| Canned Heat – Dust my Broom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song was a cover. Robert Johnson is said to have come up with the opening riff, while Elmore James brought it to the electric slide guitar and subsequently perfected it; it's often thought to be the most well-known riff in all of Blues. I recently bought a CD with artists from the 60's San Francisco music scene. This song was on there, along with On The Road Again and Spoonful. It’s not the studio version, though, and sounds amazing. I’m guessing it’s a live performance. Canned Heat is likely one of the most underrated and unnoticed acts of that era. R.I.P. Alan Wilson, Bob Hite. |

| Bob Dylan – Mr. Tambourine Man Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I've always seen some reference to cannabis with this song. Which is cool, I love it. [ ‘bob didn’t rite about drugz’ Weed isn’t a drug. :) ] ‘And take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind’ ‘Let me forget about today on ‘til tomorrow’ Lines like that, I suppose–the first of which I love. The way he says it, it hits me every time. Aside from that.. it’s easier than first realized how to interpret this song. The notion that Mr. Tambourine Man is a drug dealer is pretty interesting, as is the fact that Bob might be singing about a drug trip of sorts; or even a marijuana high (which you’ve no idea how in sync that experience is unless you’re blazin’. Haw.) The first few times I heard this, though, it gave me a kind of symbolic perspective of the afterlife–at least in Bob’s terms; Mr. Tambourine Man being his guiding angel of sorts. .. Dylan’s a musical, lyrical genius. Cheers. |

| My Chemical Romance – Death Before Disco. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I can't wait for the fourth album. Gerard was quoted as saying this is his most favorite song the band's ever done-- " To me, it's the greatest song we've ever written – it's my favorite MCR song." I've heard it once, live, when they were at the Roxy Theatre some two months back. |

| Misfits – Halloween Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| No one’s been able to capture the appeal and feeling that Halloween brings to me like Glenn. This song could never be topped. | |
| Samhain – I Am Misery Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I give you a glimpse of hope in the darkness I'll let you think that this will end And then securely nestle on your neck I drag you back to misery I love this place I love this fuckin' job I love this place I love to give you pain I guess he's speaking of the devil and how he runs Hell. |

| My Chemical Romance – Romance Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song always relaxes me. I love the way it sounds. | |
| My Chemical Romance – Sleep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Great song. Gerard's vocalization really shines through towards the end. | |
| Marilyn Manson – This Is Halloween Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This version pawns, I'm listening to it right now. Oh, Halloween. |
| My Chemical Romance – Mama Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is, without question, one of the most amazing and thematically gripping songs I've ever heard. There's just nothing like it. |
| My Chemical Romance – Cubicles Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I can't help but think that this song goes along, somewhat deliberately, with Skylines And Turnstiles. In such that it depicts a man who had worked at the World Trade Centers and that his love interest for this female co-worker could never be because of what happened. Pretty skewed, I know. |
| My Chemical Romance – I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The first MCR song I ever heard. I'm not O-fuckin'-kay. |
| My Chemical Romance – Desolation Row (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Zach Snyder (director, Watchmen) apparently proposed that MCR do a full version of this song for the movie. No doubt, it'll probably be played during the end credits. I've heard them do several live versions of the song, and it's not so bad. One trippy tune, though. |

| Misfits – American Psycho Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| American Nightmare > American Psycho. Period. | |
| Samhain – Initium Lyrics | 17 years ago |
An awesome introduction. I think it was Glenn's way of introducing his fans (those most familiar with the Misfits, especially) to the musical direcion that was Samhain; to kind of set the bar for what was to come. |

| Misfits – Theme For A Jackal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's hard to discern what Glenn was getting at when he wrote this, but it's an awesome tune; musically and lyrically. To me, it's unlike any other Misfits song and as odd as it may be of me to state, I was reminded of the Scarborough Rapist when I first heard it. Glenn couldn't have written this in recognition of such things, though, as the SR incidents happened long after the Static Age sessions. In any case, an awesome song. |

| My Chemical Romance – Dead! Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| After TBP came out, I couldn't stop listening to this song. Everyone covered it’s meaning pretty well. An awesome tune, the ‘La, La, La’s’ make it what it is. | |
| My Chemical Romance – Early Sunsets Over Monroeville Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song would always remind of the Vampire theme that MCR puts out so well. It wasn't until someone else's DotD interpretation that made me realize. Gerard loved the Misfits and Glenn Danzig would often write songs based purely off old horror movies. I think this is Gerard's own attempt at doing so, and an awesome one at that. |
| My Chemical Romance – Astro Zombies (Misfits cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I adore both MCR and the 'Fits ['77 - '83] alike, and I can honestly say that this cover.. sucks. Songs like Astro Zombies shouldn't try to be covered. It's fuckin' vintage, just leave it alone. |
| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Purple Haze Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| In any case, this song pawns. An awesome tune to get high to. | |
