It about suicide. At the beginning of the song he's hanging on a rope, 10 feet off the ground. The person is in the process of hanging themselves. The "I"m hearing what you say, but I just cant make a sound" is what's going on in his head, but at this point he can't make a sound since he's hanging. The memory or whatever's going on in his head continues, "you tell me that you need me, then you and cut me down." This is someone the person loved, whom said they needed them, but then contradicted it either by something they did or said, which cut them down, and then tries to apologize for it (which probably insults them more, since it happens over and over). (ie: I need you.. you're a loser.. oh I didnt mean it, sorry)- "Didnt think I'd turn around and say that's it too late too apologize", Probably means a couple of things. After the last apology attempt he probably told them it was too late (and reached his breaking point). It also means, "You didnt thinK I'd do it".. and it's too late for the real apology which comes at the end of the song. The next section is part of whats in the suicide note ( and how the person feels, which he's explaining before he does the deed ) "I loved you with a fire red, now its turning blue".. The person is dying now, turning blue.. It's done. The other person, after finding him or finding out, is now truly sorry meaning it this time, like the Angel he thought they were..."But I'm afraid.. ", etc ,etc.. is self explanatory. It's done, over, too late.. exactly what the song says. |
