I think that the text might be full of metaphors, in this case: the forgotten forest full of drunken trees = perhaps a miserable suburb that noone takes any notice of. I also think that in the other half of the song she is talking about a relationship coming to an end. with the: "The way you look at me now, these lights that used to shine. I've been blowing them out little one." That she's been pushing this person away from her for too long and now this persons spark for her no longer exists. |

She's fallen for someone who treats her badly. Someone who gets away with lies upon lies, someone who hangs up the phone, leaving her all alone. She'd like to tell this person about her loving feelings and she wants to mean something to this person. She wants to be this persons apetite, its good dreams, bad dreams and so on. But I guess in the long run she understands, that this person doesn't feel the same way about her. Although she lies awake and thinks about the two of them at night, trying to find a way to work it out. but the answer is far from clear. The title Pervigilo is latin and means: to lie awake. I personally think it's a very beautiful and suiting word for such a beautiful song. |

I can sure as hell relate to this song.
A few months back when I was flying home I accidentally took too much dramamine and got all spaced out and couldn't focus on anything around me. At this same time I hadn't seen my girlfriend for a long time. We didn't quite know where we had each other since everything was always fine whenever we were together but when we were apart things always tended to get worse. |

AH! This took quite some time, but I believe I've figured out what this song is all about. It's about a guy who is cheating on his girlfriend with someone who smells like tangerine (since the tangerine is spelled with a capital T it must be the code-name of the lover who must have some perfume that smells all "tangerinish"). So the girlfriend has noticed the scent on his skin and is aware of her boyfriend going on yet another "business trip". People around the girlfriend are telling her to leave him, that she is worth someone better. But when the boyfriend gets back, he tells her that he loves her, and she's probably fallen for him, in his lovetrap. She's afraid of getting her feelings hurt.
One more thing, I'd also like to add that it's: "But I'm still here, that proves that I love you DEAR." |

I believe that it's about either a daughter/son who is upset with her/his father. Or it can also be about a wife with an ungreatful and unloving husband.
The way I can relate to it is how my father never has time with me, only when I was a little kid. Now when he works alot more and has six other children, I'm the one who gets to take care of them alot. Then whenever I take the flight back home to mom, I see life in a new way. I don't know what the future has to bring, but hopefully things between me and my father will be fine. Yeah, wow, I can REALLY relate to this. Great song, all so very sentimental. |
