I interpret the song as a person struggling to keep themselves outside the bounds of 'normal'. A person trying to be an individual but struggles because they can not relate to those around him/her. Quite simply, these verses DEFINE apathy. He/She can cannot relate to their surroundings and resorts to isolation. No hopes, no aspirations, no feeling. Lets face it, individuality has become the "road less traveled". He/She is being drained and blames the rest of the world for taking the easy route and fitting in. Thanks for reading. |
