| Muse – Hoodoo Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To me, it's about a character who had to make a choice of what road to follow; light or dark. "Follow your instincts And choose the other path" He is now looking back on it and thinking off times long ago; "Draw another picture Of the life you could have had" At last, the character gets a chance of redemption, or in another scenario is destroying mankind, "Let our bodies crumble away Don't be afraid" Then alone, he is thinking about what he has done and thinks he is better off without the love of the people around him; "And i've had a recurring nightmare That I was loved for who I am And missed the opportunity To be a better man" |

Are 90% of the users on here intent on making every song about an ex relationship!? COME ON! I've always been fascinated with this line; Shame on you for thinking You're an exception We're all to blame If you just add a comma, it can become a different meanings; Shame on you, for thinking You're an exception We're all to blame I thought this was the original lyric, so my mind will always retain the meaning I gave to it; Original Sin. Before I start I'd like to point out I'm not religious at all, it just ties in well. To me it's the Creator saying to the first human who thought outside of the box, "shame on you, for thinking", therefore creating original sin. "We're all to blame Crashing down to Earth" - fall from grace, as most Muse songs include Thoughts, opinions? |

| Muse – Stockholm Syndrome Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The fall of man. "we'll fly" - speaks of now, how we live in enlightened times. "and we'll fall and you'll burn" - the fall from grace that's going to bring us to our knees. "look to the stars" - there is hope "and let hope burn in your eyes" I know I'm not the only one who has looked up at the stars and felt power. |

Ah and one more thought about Muse in general; Is it just me or do most of their songs, if not all, make you think of the stars? |

| Don't try to turn this into a religious song, Muse are far from Christian. | |

To me, it's about one person's need to be a savoir "best you've got the be the best", and to lead man out of these dark ages. If one person says it's about their ex girlfriend I'm going to scream. |

If anyone says the SongMeaning's cleche of "this reminds me of my ex girlfriend.." I'm going to kill everyone. To me this song's about how teen's have all these amazing ideas and dreams and they all fall away unfufilled~ Or youknow, they could be about nothing, like most of The Killer's songs D: |

Hate to be Mr. Morbid here but to me this song about someone on their deathbed, thinking of the things they're leaving behind and the loved ones that he is joining when he dies.. It annoys me people can just label the song about a relationship, you're only scratching the surface guys! Anyway, I think I have this view on the song because I listened to it while reading "Sons of Destiny" By Darren Shan. |

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but this song to me is perfect for the book "Tales of the Slayers", a spin off from the TV Series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It reminds me of how each Slayer before Buffy has to face their mortality and how sooner or later, they're going to be horribly killed, and the isolation they face because the Slayer is always alone. But out of their death, another Slayer is called. "Your death creates success". |

When people say that it's about a relationship I think people are only scratching the surface; most Muse songs can be related to relationships. To me, it's about when someone is born, new to the world and you're free, then you're quickly civilized and corrupted (break me in, teach us to cheat) Then the bit when he says "I'm sure I used to be so free" is when the character is looking back to a time he barely remembers when he used to be free, now a distant memory, though he is yearning to feel it again. Eventually, the "wash me away" part is when the character it dying, returning to the great freedom, and saying that he has saw all he needs to in Earth "and I've seen all I'll ever need", and that he's happy to finally return to the freedom he's been longing after since he was thrown into this world. To me, it highlights how cruel and harsh this world is, and how we expect people to conform to our way of thinking, or suffer dire consequences. ^_^ |

| Flobots – Handlebars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| To me this song represents the stages of a young man's life; starting with something innocent such as riding a bike, then gradually progressing to becoming a dictator, until in the end, it's his own power that destroys him. Then at the end of the song, it's all winded down, and he's back where he started, thinking about those innocent times. | |
| Muse – Hysteria Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| TO me, this song describes the fall of hummanity "We'll fly and we'll fall", "no-one will recall". It sort of links with Newborn, "wasting our last chance to come away". It also sort of tells of hummanity having one last chance, and falling. Message me if you want to discuss it more, I;m new here _^ | |
| Shivaree – Goodnight Moon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This may seem ignorent to the singer's original intentions, but because I first heard this off Kill Bill, I imagine in the beginning she is describing a scene where a fight has been "tacks on the floor and the tv is on" ect. And now she is waiting for the person she has killed's friends to come and kill her "Goodnight Moon". I think this song has many interpretations, this is just one that plays out in my head. I also agree with the black and white feel. | |
