I think that it's about anti-depressants, but what's 'getting easy'? I think that part probably means that it's getting easier and easier to hate himself, to put himself down and believe it, and the only thing he sees the anti depressants doing is numbing him thus making him hate himself more. But maybe that's just me. |

This comment might make me sound like a dummy, but I'm gonna risk it. First, I'm NOT gonna claim this song was written about me or anything lame like that, but I am going to mention (with a reason behind it) that my name happens to be Callie. I just think it's pretty neat-o that I've FINALLY found a song that doesn't exploit the name by being, well, sucky. And now I'm going to admit that I've never actually heard this song, but Mew's been recommended to me and I'm going to go buy it ASAP! |

so, after reading the comments about the video, i wanted to see it. and i just happend to look through all 3 pages of results, a lot of people are using this song to PROMOTE bulimia, like, this song put to "thinsperation" pictures. So, even though i always saw it as against EDs, i guess you really CAN take it either way... |

it sounds to me like the dude promisd himself he wouldn't fall for this person for whatever reason, but ended up falling hard. but the person has someone else hence the "can we make believe" and he hates himself for falling for a person he can't have. BUT. like i said. that's just how i took it. |

I don't really have anything relevant to say, but this song is amazing. I got my youth pastor, who hated mewithoutYou hooked on Brother, Sister after i had him listen to this song. "a glass can only spill what it contains" is a powerful line by itself. |

I don't see any thing indicating that this thing that haunts him is a girl. I think it's just not being able to put into words how miserable he is that is haunting him. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it. It's a beautiful song either way. I can't get enough of it. |
