| I agree with Optimus. I think a lot of it is also about everyone fighting each other to get to the top, when there really isn't a top at all. It's all a game. | |

I think the chorus reveals a lot more than anyone is touching on. I think it's about how a lot of women today are walking around knowing their power over men. But Slug's always seen that (whether or not he guards against it) and that's where "I'ma tap her on the shoulder, I'ma give her a clue" comes from. That's one thing I've always loved about Atmosphere. Slug's lyrics paint a spiteful, manipulative, waste of time woman, and in a lot of ways, that woman is inside nearly everyone I know. Especially myself. |

"Two geniuses putting together the pieces to a blank puzzle..." Love that lyric. We all wander around and just bump into each other. Amazing lyricist. |

Something that I'm suprised hasn't been touched on yet is "what happened next damn near stole my tears, the tattoos came alive right in front of my eyes." Women (and people in general) attempt to hold good and evil in their hands, to control them, to controll the ebb and flow of one over the other. Of course good and evil coexist, Slug has told us this before. But what's learned is that no one (and I think for Slug, he's thinking of all his past relationships with women) can keep control of the good and evil that we try to harness. Good and evil take off on their own, and usually end up making us feel better than when we were dead set on control. When we let go, the good and evil around us can carry us to new levels of enlightenment, or just to feeling better. ... and of course, amazing song. |
