| Casiotone for the Painfully Alone – Jeane if You're Ever in Portland Lyrics

This is the very first song I heard by Casiotone. A couple years ago a fellow musician and I exchanged mix CDs of indie/unknown bands that needed to be listened to. It was the best way to hear such a great artist. The first time I heard it, I immediately loved it. Such great stuff. |

I think he's just one of those artists that can't be captured. You have to experience it live to really feel it. He's great. I've seen him probably 6 times now. |

"So when you breathe, breathe deep, breathe in GREEDILY"
That's the only error I noticed... It's such a great song. I saw him live and solo acoustic. He was amazing. I've seen him 4 or 5 times now. His vinyl is great too. |

It sounds a lot like he's talking about drugs. "Snow," "jones," "freeze/numbs my throat," "leaves me dry..." Yeah... I think it's a song about drugs and addiction. |

I think it's about someone who is mostly paralyzed(except for eye movement). There's a movie(based true) about a man with Locked-In Syndrome called The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. I think the lines "Blink your eyes, one for yes, two for no" is a reference to the movie. (In the movie they ask the guy to blink for the letter he wants to spell words, then sentences...etc...) I think the lyrics greatly resemble the feeling of the movie. I could be wrong, but that's what I think it's about. |
