| until now i also believed the last lines to be an optimistic twist, a technically constructed by-the-book metaphor for the word 'attempt' or simply 'rehearsal' alone. i think it is not. it is in the same note as the rest of the song, and the dress rehearsal rag (as in rags) is the character's body, his final conclusion. like it was all not for real anyway. | |
